The catalytic converter is designed to last lifetime of the vehicle. It relies on receiving the proper mix of exhaust gasses from the engine at the proper temperature. Anything that seriously affect the mix and temperature of the exhaust gas will affect the effectiveness of the converter and may ruin it. Follow the guideline set out below to ensure your customer gets the maximum life out of the new replacement converter.

Keep your catalytic converter from failing by following this advice:

  • Use only the catalytic convertor meant for the specific vehicles as cataloged
  • Services the vehicle regularly to the manufactures specifications
  • Check the vehicle’s engine tuning, ignition system, full management system, and all the emission control system components regularly.
  • Avoid using fuel additives that are not compatible with catalytic converters and fuel with high Sulphur content
  • Avoid driving through deep water or on damaged roads and drive carefully over speed bumps.
  • Avoid overloading the vehicle or trailer.
